Getting Started

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

As a motorsport, we are grass root and one of the cheapest forms of racing.  The cost is split between driver and co-driver, there are no expensive tyres to replace and a 25 litre fuel tank will see you through a day’s racing! As a guideline a used ready to race package starts from £3,500.00 up to a new set up at £8,500. A 7 event season will cost in the region of £1900 P/P which includes your license, entry fees, fuel, membership and personal equipment. Additional propellers can be purchased with new ones available from £350 or you can find second hand ones online from £50.00.

Cost

To race at UK level you will need to hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification and then undertake the RYA ThunderCat training hosted by ourselves at pre-season events. Personal 1 to 1 training can be arranged if required by our specialist instructors in racing, technical setup and engine maintenance. We arrange discounted medicals at £45 at certain pre-season events.

Submit the above along with your RYA powerboat racing licence application form. You will first receive a provisional licence, after competing in 3 British events you will be upgraded to a full RYA licence, then a further 2 British events will allow you to apply for an international upgrade.

The minimum age to race is 16 as a co-driver and 17 for a driver.
